Letter from the President
To Our Valued Customers and Friends,
For over 20 years Bliss Products and Services has served the recreational industry by providing our customers with the two things our name implies: quality products with great support services. Our customers have trusted us to make sure that the products we recommend and the services we offer will provide the children in their communities with the recreational experiences they need with the quality they require.
For years, there has been little change to the approach most companies take in designing commercial playground equipment. As one park and recreation director once told me “from the parking lot, all of y’alls equipment looks pretty much the same.” The sad thing is, he was right and we were no exception.
What we’ve learned from our experience is that while the playground equipment hasn’t changed, the kids have.
Today’s generation of children have a growing need for age appropriate play experiences that can offer them challenging choices and provide them with the developmental building blocks that can last a lifetime. We believe playgrounds can become more relevant to the kids that play on them by having equipment that respects children’s growing demands and provides a rich play experience no matter what their age, ability or disability. That’s why we’ve decided to make a change too.
When we were approached by Kompan with the opportunity to represent one of the world’s largest playground manufacturers here in the South East, we were all ears. Kompan is a company that gets it. Their equipment is designed from a child’s point of view. Products such as the award winning Galaxy and the new Element Edge constantly provide children with new ways to play – limited only by their imagination and abilities. No, it doesn’t look like a ‘regular’ playground but I’m thinking that’s a good thing.
Bliss Products and Services has been doing what’s right for our customers for more than 20 years. That won’t change. What will change is how we do it.
